Isang punong nakalalason - salin ng tula ni William Blake

ISANG PUNONG NAKALALASON
Tula ni William Blake (1757-1827)
Malayang salin ni Gregorio V. Bituin Jr.
11 pantig bawat taludtod

Galit ako sa aking kaibigan:
Galit ko'y sinabi't agad nawala.
Galit ako sa aking nakalaban,
Di ko sinabi't galit ko'y lumubha.

At sa pangamba, ito'y diniligan
Sa araw at gabi ng aking luha;
At may ngiting ito'y pinaarawan
At nang may lambot, sadyang pandaraya.

At lumago ito araw at gabi
Hanggang binunga'y kaygandang mansanas.
At kaaway ko'y masid 'yong maigi
At yaon ay akin, kanyang natuklas.

At sa aking hardin bumalabal
Nang gabing nalambungan ang haligi
Sa umagang kaysaya kong minasdan
Ang kaaway ko sa puno'y duhagi.

A POISON TREE
Poem by William Blake (1757-1827)

I was angry with my friend:
I told my wrath, my wrath did end.
I was angry with my foe:
I told it not, my wrath did grow.

And I watered it in fears,
Night and morning with my tears;
And I sunned it with smiles,
And with soft deceitful wiles.

And it grew both day and night,
Till it bore an apple bright.
And my foe beheld it shine.
And he knew that it was mine,

And into my garden stole
When the night had veiled the pole;
In the morning glad I see
My foe outstretched beneath the tree.
